Today is just what I needed a beautiful day to get outside and go for a really long walk...I was secretly hoping that my hour time frame would go longer because it is so gorgeous outside.
Most days I get caught up in the idea that I have to go exercise and I look at it as a chore of some sort. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my exercise time, because it is just that “my time”. I enjoy challenging myself to running half marathons, training for triathlons, and the newest challenge I am contemplating is biking 100 miles.
However for me there is a difference between my exercise time and my walking time...when I walk I reflect, I smile, and I listen. This time gives me the opportunity to really hear what God is saying...what is it that He is pouring onto my heart and having me really think about.
With today being the last day of 2013...today it was about reviewing all the blessings 2013 provided my family and it was about writing on my heart the “2014 word of the year”. When I think about 2013 the verse, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" and the song All I Can Do (Thank You) by Mikeschair (View video here) come to mind. Give thanks for an amazing year...a year of family and friends, a year of good health, a year of teaching our children to bless other (definitely a work in progress).
Below is photo recap of the year...Tomorrow I will post my word of the year!
I wish everyone a Happy 2014 and many blessing to you and your family.
