I've been to church,
I've read the book,
I know He's there,
But I don't look,
near as often as I should,
His fingerprints are everywhere,
I just look down and stop and stare,
open my eyes and then I swear,
I Saw God Today.

As I sit down to blog, I absorbed my surroundings....trains everywhere, picture books being used as bridges, Zephyr singing "Dead Skunk In The Middle of the Road" as he plays trains, Add studying multiplication facts on the iPad, no TV on, and myself wrapped in a blanket at the laptop ready to blog. Ahhhh, a relaxing few hours today with nothing on the to do list. The quietness of the room seems to be relaxing in itself.
Time to just "sit around" is much needed as we have been enjoying a family friendly packed week at the fair and we look forward to our family vacation on Monday. These relaxing days seem far and few between, but days like today give me more time to see the many graces and blessings of God. For example, as I blog away, Add squeezes her bottom into the chair I am sitting at and reads my blog as I type or Zephyr runs up to my ear to tell me a "secret" which actually was to say he is ready for lunch. We also get time to "Do you remember when" as Zephyr puts it, to talk about what we have done this summer. The kids also remind me of the little things we still need to do like look at the constellations or make home made lemonade and ice cream. But yet, just sitting around gives me time to renew my heart, gives me time to Thank God for His graces.
This blog is me listening to what God has had on my heart for over a year, writing (or trying to write). Just sitting around today has given Add, Zephyr, and myself time to relax, remember, enjoy quiet time, but most importantly thank God for all His graces and blessings. I realize how fast our children grow up and soon they may not want to sit right next to me or tell me secrets, but today they do and I am so grateful. So yes, I saw God today while I was just "just sitting around".
