Galatians 6:9, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Having been away from home, the past few weeks has put my blog writing on the "back burner." However, in the past few weeks, I have experienced one of those rewarding teaching moments in my career. I had the opportunity to attend the FBLA National Leadership Conference with two amazingly talented students who I taught from 7-12 grades. These students competed in a digital design and promotion competition where they were eventually crowned national champions. Seeing the students on stage and taking home the first place trophy was an exciting, overwhelming, tearful moment, and it was through determination, faith, and hard work these two students were able to walk off of stage beaming ear to ear.
Throughout the week, I had many opportunities to reflect and thank God for blessing me with students who wanted to be challenged with high expectations. I reflected upon where I was at five years ago as a teacher and how I have grown tremendously in my professional career. I reflected upon the technology skills these students had five years ago when I met them for the first time. I reflected upon how much they have grown, the leadership skills they developed, the work ethic they have developed, but mainly I reflected upon how God was working in all three of us throughout the week. I was constantly reminded that one of the talents God gave me is to lead. I wondered am I honoring Him by positively impacting those around me? Do I truly work at inspiring my students to set goals and work hard at attaining those expectations? I was reminded of Galatians 6:9, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

This verse summed up the successful week, the countless hours of dedication, the hard work put into preparing a top notch presentation, encouraging and challenging the students, and at the right time God blessed them. I soon realized that the countless hours of dedication are never underestimated and never unnoticed. I give a gift to God, by using my talent of leading to encourage students to never give up and encouraging them to have high expectations, to set goals, and to work hard at achieving these goals. And in the end, He will bless us, if we truly have our heart in the right place, using our talents to glorify Him.
When you are growing wearing in doing good, remember at the right time God will also bless you.
