A few years ago, my mentor embarked on a journey of being brave. I loved following her journey as she planned out a year of adventure (both big and small) and doing things that would require her to be brave. In the back of my mind, I often wondered if I could ever be fearless enough to be brave like her.
While my friend was on her brave journey, I read The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson. This book discussed the importance of creating and circling God-sized dreams. It continued to discuss how to pray for specific things and to keep praying for my dreams (which in actuality was really hard for me, I had always been taught to prayer for others, not necessarily myself). After reading this book, I made a life list of dreams that would take divine intervention to accomplish. Every day, I pray over this circled list of God-sized dreams. And just when I started doubting my writing dream and contemplating circling a different dream, God made his entrance. He had been connecting dots around me, when I didn’t even see the dots being connected.
As the New Year approaches, fearless is going to take on another definition. (Side note: In a previous blog, I wrote how learning to be fearless has shown me the importance of being present.) Now I get to chase the writing dream. I get to chase a blogging adventure; the one I have been circling in prayer. The crazy thing is, when I go back to my original journal entry where I first circled this dream, here is what I wrote:

“I am in no way qualified to write or blog. Writing is definitely not strength of mine. And I am the worst speller EVER. Yet, God qualifies the called and maybe just maybe He will call me.”
Crazy. Just. Crazy.
I am extremely excited to chase this adventure. I am excited to keep chasing this God-sized dream. However, for someone like me who values a growth mindset, I wonder what smaller adventures can I chase in the upcoming year without compromising me being present. And more than likely, I will have a little notebook, a Pinterest board, and a list all entitled “2017 Adventures to Chase”. There is one thing is for sure, this will be my brave journey, no, this is my fearless journey and I will keep circling it in prayer.
(P.S. I will share a little bit more about my new blogging adventure, once all the details are finalized.)
